High Mileage...
Is starting to agree with me. As I wrote yesterday, I ran 12 miles. I did go in the pool briefly in the afternoon to soothe my tired feet a little bit, which was nice. I had contemplated running a double yesterday but my legs really didn't feel like it and the only point of that would have been to build a bunch of miles in the bank and exhaust myself and possibly get injured. So that seemed like a bad idea.
Instead of running yesterday afternoon, after going to the pool, I watched '13 Going on 30', and then took a shower and went to dinner at Lola, one of our favorite restaurants, with M. and another couple. It was SO GOOD, I had banana-crusted snapper. It was nice to eat something really healthy for a change and it made me think I should do it more often! Of course I probably killed most of the healthy points of the dinner by drinking a margarita and a half. I think I am over margaritas, they are way too sweet.
This morning I was too hungry when I woke up to run, so I went to the coffee shop, got coffee and breakfast, and hung out reading for a while. I have practice at 5:15 today, which will be 800's, but I knew that last week it kind of screwed me up to have a low mileage day early in the week. Since I know that in order to run 70 miles in a week, I have to average 10 miles a day, running 7 miles on Tuesday seems bad. Especially since Tuesday is generally a hard day, I kind of figure that a hard day may as well be a day when I run some real mileage.
Given all of those thoughts that went through my brain this morning while I was reading, I decided to do a 4-5 mile run this morning. I went home, got changed (about 30 minutes after eating which I thought could be bad but ended up being all right), and started running. Now here is why I titled today's entry like I did - I felt great! I was really surprised. Since I ran 12 miles yesterday and stuff, and didn't sleep terribly well last night, and just expected to feel bad, it was a really nice surprise. It also just felt easy, which was really nice. So I ended up running 5 miles and I am feeling great about that as I will probably run about another 7 miles this afternoon at practice and then will be well on my way to another 70 mile week.
That is the news for now, hopefully I'll have a chance to write an entry tomorrow as well.
