At today's KBC Nacht Van De Atletiek (Night of Athletics) meet in Heusden, Belgium, U.S. middle-distance and distance runners produced one American record and 11 personal bests. Lisa Galaviz finished fourth in the steeplechase, but set a new American record and a 10-plus second personal best of 9:28.75. Galaviz broke Briana Shook's three-year-old record of 9:29.32.
Alan Webb, who broke the American record in the mile last week, continued his amazing season with a win and a big personal best in the 800. Webb's time of 1:43.84 smashed his PR (set earlier this season) by 1.96 seconds. Webb's time makes him the eighth-fastest U.S. performer of all time. In the same race, Jonathan Johnson finished fourth in a PR of 1:44.69.
In the women's 1,500, Erin Donohue (4:05.55 PR), Shalane Flanagan (4:06.24), and Amy Mortimer (4:07.23) swept the top three places, and U.S. athletes took five of the top six spots.
Brian Olinger finished 11th in the steeplechase in a PR of 8:19.29. Aaron Aguayo finished just behind (12th, 8:20.34) and earned the World Championships "A" standard. While Aguayo had already punched his ticket to Osaka, Aguayo's time will enable Tom Brooks (who finished 17th in 8:30.65) to represent the U.S. at the World Championships as well. Each country can only send one qualifier per event who has only met the "B" standard, and now that the top two trials finishers (Josh McAdams and Aguayo) have the "A" standard, Brooks can go with the "B" standard.
The men's 5,000 was also a big race for the U.S. as Chris Solinsky (fourth, 13:12.24) took more than 15 seconds off of his PR. Bolota Asmerom shaved more than 19 seconds off his previous personal best in finishing eighth (13:15.16). Ian Dobson won the "B" race in 13:18.87, and Jonathon Riley finished second in a slight PR of 13:19.92. Sean Graham finished sixth in a new PR of 13:23.50
Matt Tegenkamp finished sixth in the 1,500 in 3:36.48.

Sorry for the slow response. I get my information from the USATF's annual publication, which is not available online as far as I know. Maybe someone else can tell you where Solinsky's 5k ranks (or maybe you've figured it out by now). Since I'm in the middle of a move, my FAST annual (I think that's what it's called) is packed away in a box somewhere.

Do you know where the all-time best lists for USA athletes is posted? Where is Solinsky's 5K time on the all-time US list?
